School is sucking major ass right now. I conclude that teachers have no morals or morsel of sympathy, and that physics stops being riveting, fun or cool when you get about 20 problem sets a day for homework. And I've officially gotten sick of cup ramen. I think the world's ending. Who'd ever get sick of ramen? Though choosing that over cafeteria dinner for 3 weeks in favor of not leaving your room thus alloting more time to homework can do that to you.

There is 1 redeeming factor, however. Saint Rudolph did the smartest thing it has in its decades (centuries?) of establishment by introducing this new thing called Cinnatwist in the school cafeteria. They're strips of dough sprinkled with cinnamon powder and sugar, then twisted, baked and served with this awesome sweet syrup. DIVINE. Whoever came up with these things- ... the Americans? Genius.

Shit, I'm rambling. I need coffee.

back with a little rambling

music: Kitade Nana - Akai Hana
The school network server's been a fucking shit for the past week, which is why I haven't been online. It's never had a screwup of such proportions, I couldn't even sign onto my messenger or download one frickin mp3. Thankfully all the teachers were merciful and decided to spare us from research essays, 'cept our history teacher who found it a perfect opportunity to throw us back into the oldschool library books for a paper. Inhuman old fart. And Kaneda's Yaida Hitomi CD proved condusive for our essay writing. But that aside, I've had good chunks of free time to just fiddle with my guitar, and I've worked out an opening and a base melody line. Hopefully pretty soon I'll have lyrics to go with it.

Bumped into aniki at the RI.Sing headquarters last Friday. Annoying as ever. But we managed to scrape out a little conversation, and I guess it was pretty nice. In a banal, minimal kind of way. Going gutterballing this Friday at the lanes downtown. If aniki lied about his suckiness at bowling I'm gonna drop a 16-pounder on his foot. But at least he's more morally decent than a certain treacherous jackass I know.

And congratulations to CtB for making 8th in the chart. It's a good single, I've had the privilege of witnessing part of it recorded on one of my workdays. Mizuki-san pushed a free copy into my hands today, all smiles and confidence again, and asked me if I'd like to join him for the reception. Never been to one before, but of course I agreed. Better borrow some decent clothes from Kaneda... or Shinya... or whoever.

Speaking of which. Shinya, make an entry already so I can mock your hideous default white and purple lj layout.

music: Plastic Tree - Cosmic Youth
Plastic Tree's new album, cell. is absofuckinglutely great. My painstaking two weeks worth of skimping was well worth it. The album's very diverse, apparently this time they worked with Inoue Uni, Shiina Ringo's sound engineer. Each song just seems to evolve and cross into the next, alternating between raw and edgy, slow and stirring and typical Plastic Tree harmonic, riveting rock. Awesome stuff. Gonna copy it for Shinya, I'm sure he'd want it.

Exit rambling, enter switching to speakers and putting this CD on loop until Kaneda starts twitching. I have to get him back for subjecting me to an afternoon of Sakamoto Maaya the last time. And if he ever dares to threaten me with Morning Musume I'll unleash Shiina Ringo's Koufukuron on him.

I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life. I also don't think I ever want to go back to his place again, it's too dangerous. But then his black Yamaha grand is damn gorgeous. If he invites me back maybe I'll go again. Though he probably wouldn't, but whatever.

To Echizen Ryoma. )

And forget it, Shinya, I'm not composing for your Dane song.

((OOC: strike-outs = deleted. And Shinya showed Yuuta the song lyrics during the enrichment class they had on Saturday morning. XD After Yuuta told him that he helped Ryoma compose Life Goes On))

music: L'arc-en-Ciel - REVELATION
Now that I'm working as an intern for Mizuki-san, I thought I'd make things a bit more convenient by setting up an online journal. Besides, it's also a good way to talk to Shinya about band stuff outside school without having to meet. This is less of a hassle than a written diary I guess, but a written diary's also easier to keep away from prying eyes. His, especially. A notebook can be kept out of sight indefinitely, all I need to do is bring it to school. But I guess I can always keep this either private or friends only. Then, even if he does somehow find this, it won't do him any good. Anyway, I figured I might as well type in a latest written entry to test how this thing works.

Shinya and I met today to talk over band matters. We decided on putting up notices around the school to gather those who're interested, and then holding a meeting to see who flows and who doesn't. Inbetween, we'll write our own music as well as practise songs by other bands. I want to play something by L'arc. Or something a little more old-school, like hide. Emulating is always a good way to start, I think, even though I've been against the idea of emulating others all my life. Well... probably not all others. Just him. Above all the mere idea of emulating him makes me want to break things.

Applications for job shadow and internships are up in school again, and I thought it'd be like last year and not have any band or music related options. I took a look at the signup sheets anyway, and I'm glad I did. There was an option open for a temporary assistant of the manager of Cap to Bin. Cap to Bin! The successful underground J-pop/rock band that took the nation by storm! That's precisely the direction I want to push our indies band toward, and this job might give me some insider tips and information on the industry. And to think that Cap to Bin's manager is none other than Mizuki-san! That was really unexpected. He was something of a mentor when I was still in the school band... after he graduated I figured he'd pursue music in college but I didn't think he'd get into management. I didn't expect to land the job either, since I wasn't the first to sign up. But I received the approval letter within 3 days, I'm really quite lucky. It'd be great to work with him again.
